VILLAMASSARGIA is a little and peaceful village 
of South Sardinia, in Sulcis Iglesiente area, only 35 km from Cagliari airportand less than 15 minutes from the most beautiful beaches of South Sardinia. This delightful small town had its origins in Medieval Times, when as today it was right in the middle of the road from Cagliari to Sant’Antioco Island. Villamassargia is surrounded by a very wide countryside, rich in Mediterranean plants. The life of its citizens follows the time of nature and their most ancient traditions.
You can’t miss: Sa Reina (The Queen), the biggest olive three in the Mediterranean Sea, its diameter is 16 meters long! The three is in the middle of the Historical Park of S'Ortu Mannu , with other 669 olive threes of XIV century. Nearby there is the Medieval Castle of Gioiosa Guardia . Nature and history meet also in the Orbai old miners' village. They all are the best place if you like sports as trekking, biking, horse riding, running and bird watching. You can also do some free climbing in Santa Mariedda , sponsored by the Italian genius of free climbing Maurizio Oviglia in Autumn, Spring and Winter time.
